Mid-Summer Home Maintenance Checklist

  1. HVAC System

    • Change or clean air filters.

    • Check for proper cooling and schedule a professional service if needed.

    • Clean around outdoor AC units and remove debris.

  2. Plumbing

    • Inspect for leaks under sinks and around toilets.

    • Check outdoor faucets and hoses for leaks or damage.

  3. Roof and Gutters

    • Inspect the roof for missing or damaged shingles.

    • Clean gutters and downspouts to ensure proper drainage.

  4. Windows and Doors

    • Check weatherstripping and caulking for gaps or damage.

    • Clean window tracks and screens.

  5. Exterior Maintenance

    • Power wash siding, decks, and patios.

    • Inspect and repair any chipped paint or damaged siding.

    • Check for signs of pests or insects around the foundation.

  6. Landscaping

    • Trim trees and shrubs away from the house.

    • Check irrigation systems for leaks or clogs.

    • Remove weeds and dead plants.

  7. Safety Checks

    • Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

    • Check fire extinguishers and replace if expired.

  8. General Upkeep

    • Clean and organize the garage or storage areas.

    • Inspect fences and gates for damage.

    • Lubricate garage door tracks and hinges.
